Herengracht, n° 386 to 394 : The Michelin guide review

This series of houses begins at number 386 with a building by Philip Vingboons (1633): a residence with a classical facade, decorated with pilasters. It was the first to occupy a double plot, and its facade is topped by three magnificent gables. Number 388 dates from 1655 and numbers 390-392 from 1665. Also of note is number 394, a narrow house capped with a bell-shaped gable (1672). On the stone-work of its facade the story of the four Aymon sons, legendary heroes of the Ardennes, is depicted.
