Bloemgracht : The Michelin guide review

Formerly the haunt of painters, dyers and paint-sellers, the quiet "flower canal" has achieved great recognition because of the high number of its houses that have been designated historic monuments. Particularly impressive is the trio of fine step-gabled houses (1645) known as the Farmer, the Peasant and the Sailor. At the corner of Tweede Leliedwarsstraat, number 29 is the former residence of the Blaeu dynasty, famous publishers of geographical maps.
