Piazza delle Erbe : The Michelin guide review

This oblong square is very lively and colourful on market days. With stalls of fruit and vegetables, a fountain surmounted by the Madonna Verona (a Roman statue), old palaces (some decorated with marble columns and frescoes) and the dominant pink colour of its façades, it is absolutely stunning! Running down the middle are the column of St Mark bearing Venice’s winged lion, the market column and the “Capitello” or “Tribuna” where decrees and sentences were proclaimed.
