Grand Canal : The Michelin guide review

The Grand Canal is 3.8km in length and varies between 30m and 70m in width according to the curves it weaves across the city. Simply spectacular, the Grand Canal is striking naturally for its famous palaces (especially impressive by night) but also because of its teeming human activity. Nowhere better illustrates that Venice was born, and continues to live, in an aquatic environment. Activity is most frenetic around the Rialto bridge, at the heart of this city where nothing is ordinary.
