Palazzo Medici-Riccardi : The Michelin guide review

In 1444, Michelozzo was commissioned by Cosimo the Elder to build this palace, which was to form the backdrop for the brilliant humanist court of his grandson Lorenzo il Magnifico. The building’s exterior gives little indication as to the splendour which awaits within: the fine frescoes by Benozzo Gozzoli whcich decorate the bossed gilded ceilings of the Chapel of the Magi, and the ceiling of the Luca Giordano room, depicting with amazing virtuosity the apotheosis of the Medici dynasty.
