Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie : The Michelin guide review

The famous Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci is here (painted on the walls of the monks' refectory), which rightly attracts visitors in their droves to this church, an absolute jewel completed by Bramante. The fresco has since May 1999 (after 21 years of restoration work) been on public display. Note the quality of the original colours in the drapery and the contrasting use of light and shade (a technique known as chiaroscuro).
