Travel guide Civitella del Tronto
Civitella del Tronto
: The Michelin guide review
This village, 24km from Ascoli Piceno, is perched on a hill of travertine stone in a magnificent location overlooking the sea. Attractive 16C and 17C houses and churches line its narrow winding streets and the village is dominated by an imposing 16C fortress. This was the last Bourbon citadel to surrender to the Sardinian-Piedmontese armies in 1861.
