Travel guide Alghero
Alghero
: The Michelin guide review
Alghero is a charming little port surrounded by olive groves, eucalyptus trees and umbrella pine, where coral fishing is still part of the local economy. The town is also known as the Sardinian Barcellonetta, after the working-class district of the Catalonian capital, Barcelona. Alghero was conquered in 1354 by the Catalans and adopted the Catalan Gothic style of architecture as well as their language, which is still spoken today.
