TOURISM
The first church built on the site was probably built by the Danes. The current church dates from 1095 but was redeveloped in 1686. Note the organ (1724), on which Handel played, the Penitents' Pew where criminals publicly admitted their guilt and the bishop's recumbent statue (12C). The most remarkable items are in the crypt, which contains mummified corpses which have been preserved for over three centuries due to the very dry air and constant temperature.
