National Museum: Collins Barracks star : The Michelin guide review

One of the two sites of the National Museum of Ireland (the other being on Kildare Street), Collins Barracks (1700) used to house 3 000 men and 1 000 horses, and was in its time the largest barracks in the British Isles. The displays cover decorative arts, traditional life, history and geology. See the Curators’ Choice in the western building, an eclectic selection of 25 objects including a rare astrolabe from Prague and a 13C-14C gaunt wooden statue of St Molaise.
