Travel guide Adare
Adare
: The Michelin guide review
Adare is located on the west bank of the River Maigue, in the heart of the fertile wooded lands that lie west of Limerick. The principal thoroughfare, Main Street, is lined with thatched cottages, most of which are at at least two hundred years old. Adare has changed little since the building of the majority of the other buildings at the end of the 19C. Nothing remains of the original village, established a thousand years ago near the castle . The Anglo-Normans settled here in the 12C.
