The Bazaar fire (1885) enabled the remains of Hadrian's library to be identified (132 A.D.). This edifice ruined by the barbarians was rebuilt in the 5C A.D. during construction, in the courtyard of the library, of a quadrilobed building. Two churches were built on the remains of the latter: one in the 7C, one in the 11 to the 12C. The entrance façade, quite well preserved, led to the courtyard, where foundations of the Byzantine church can be seen.
