Apollonía : The Michelin guide review
Apolonía, capital of the island of Sífnos, spreads out like an amphitheatre on three hills. It is surrounded by typical Cycladean villages and contains many churches: Panagía Ouranofóra, Metamórfossi tou Sotíra, Agios Spirídonas (the island's cathedral), and Agios Sóstis. There is a Folk Museum in the main square. South of the small town, the monastery of Profítis Ilías tou Psiloúa stands on a hill. It is one of the oldest buildings on the island.
