Hatfield House star : The Michelin guide review

This is one of the finest and largest James I style castles in England. It was built by Robert Cecil, who handed the work to Robert Lyminge, the architect of Blicking Hall. Blicking reused bricks from a former castle to build a palace in the traditional E shape that he added to with decorative details using stones for the corner clamps and installing modern balustrades. The southern façade, made of Caen stone, is fascinating.
