Chatsworth House star : The Michelin guide review

On the edge of the Peak District National Park, Chatsworth House, a "second Versailles", according to Charles de Saint-Amand (1854), contains the extensive collection of works of art of the Dukes of Devonshire. The original Chatsworth was built by Sir William Cavendish and Bess of Hardwick, an indomitable character who freely indulged her passion for architecture. Transformed into a Baroque palace in the 17C, Chatsworth was considerably extended between 1820 and 1827.
