      Pros

Consistenly freindly and welcoming staff from manger to cleaners. Excellent restaurant is the star feature here. Rooms are clean and comfortable and uniquely furnished giving them chamr and character. Excellent for a 3 star category.

      Cons

With a little extra effort this hotel could achieve a fourth star - e.g. stereo in bedroom, fresh coffee rather than instant with the in room facilities (although room service prompt and good) and perhaps a minibar to make up for the lack of night porter.

      Pros

The views from the gardens were lovely, the house itself atmospheric, a nice ambience if a little gloomy in our pannelled room on a dull January(not the main restaurant which looked bright and inviting) . 16 of us went for a 90th birthday celebration.

      Cons

Menu and quality of food unanimously poor- faggots (despite specific early request for no offal, waiter clueless),overcooked vegetarian pasta so bad it wasn't finished, waiters kept interrupting conversations to ask what people had ordered, we had to go and find someone for sugar for coffee, I could go on... so disappointing, the best that can be said is great petit fours and bread.
