Cuisine French classic

Menu: 12£ (lunch) - Carte: 22£/29£

Welcoming restaurant with warm décor, upmarket bistro-style and small patio. Seasonally changing à la carte displays tasty, well-done dishes with strong French undertones. Good value lunch.

      Pros

The "Fawlty Towers" service was, at least, entertaining.

      Cons

This is as close to a "Fawlty Towers" experience as I have ever encountered. Hapless staff clearly frightened, as we were, by a domineering "hostess".Food was very poor: well cooked meats entirely lost to gloopy, overbearing (and excessive) sauces. (The sauces were suspiciously similar between different dishes)I am at a loss to understand how this restaurant managed an entry into the Michelin Guide. Truly dreadful.
