      Pros

We had an extended family lunch with seven of us at Jeremy's at Borde Hill last Sunday, our first visit for over 2 years and we expected a pleasant and competent meal in agreeable surroundings. In fact it was extremely good and significantly exceeded our expectations. We shared most dishes and everyone that I tried was perfectly cooked, meat, fish and veg. The favour and seasoning balances were perfect, the ingredients clearly first class and the portions the right size. The reasonably priced Rioja we selected was also excellent. My Thai sister-in-law (a chef in New Zealand) said it was the best meal she had had in Europe during a 3 week tour. I have eaten at both The Limes and The Witch recently, both are good with competently prepared menus but I agree with another recent review that Jeremy's is currently demonstrating that it is well ahead of its Bistro themed local competitors - perhaps our local Michelin Starred Ockenden Manor may need to look to it's laurels in the future?
