TOURISM
In 1976, archaeologists unearthed four rows of houses from the Viking city containing remarkable objects such as boots, shoes and pins, as well as preserved plants and insets. Two rows show an archaeological dig, the other two have been carefully rebuilt. The visitor can take a "journey through time" to Jorvik of old, with the sights, sounds and smells of an October day in 948 AD.
