Built by Viscount Fairfax for his sister Anne in 1755, this Georgian house was used for 50 years as a dancehall and cinema, then was saved from destruction in 1983-84. It now houses a collection of furniture, paintings, clocks and Georgian porcelain. The Cortese ceilings and sculpted wooden moulding have been meticulously restored or replaced.
