Hopetoun House : The Michelin guide review

Situated west of Edinburgh on the southern banks of the Forth, 3 km from South Queensferry, this large building stands in a magnificent setting with wonderful views. The architecture of Hopetoun House helps us to understand the differences that separate the designs by William Bruce (17C) from those by William Adam (18C), and see the diversity of the interiors designed by Bruce and Adam's son, with very fine furniture and an interesting collection of paintings.
