Travel guide Jedburgh
Jedburgh
: The Michelin guide review
Jedburgh spans the River Jed and is sited on one of Scotland's trunk roads, the A68 (the Roman Dere Street). The town grew up around a castle and abbey, and was granted royal burgh status by William the Lion in 1165. However, Jedburgh remained vulnerable in this border region and its history reflects the surrounding area's past. Today, it is a market town with some fine buildings representing the locality’s architectural tradition.
