The Royal High School has an imposing façade, with a column portico surmounted with a pediment. Further down is the Greek temple dedicated to and designed by Robert Burns. Skirting round Carlton Hill you will come to the elegant curved run of building comprised of Regent Terrace (1825-1846), Calton Terrace (1820-1860) and Royal Terrace (1821-1860).
