TOURISM
Situated beyond the confines of the walled town, Cowgate was first a route used to walk cows along and then, in the 16C a beautiful street forming part of a very elegant area. For a long time it was a simple abandoned track crossing under the George the Forth bridge, but today it is a vibrant night-spot, with a variety of pubs and clubs.
