Quayside : The Michelin guide review

Arriving from the south you will see this remarkable urban landscape at its best, heightened by the bridges spanning the Tyne: High Level Bridge, the oldest, Swing Bridge, Tyne Bridge and the Millenium Bridge (2001), a marvel of technology and aestheticism. Here you will come across an eclectic cityscape of old buildings – the town hall, Bessie Surtee's House, and new – modern buildings dedicated to music and contemporary art. The walk along the Tyne, lined with hotels, pubs and benches, is very popular.
