Westminster Abbey: Henry VII Chapel star : The Michelin guide review

Built at Henry VII’s behest in the early 16C, this magnificent chapel is a fine example of the Perpendicular style. The pillars support magnificent fan vaulting on projecting keystones separated by a network of slender ribs. The entrance has bronze grille doors bearing the royal coat of arms. Note the oak stalls with historiated misericords and, behind the altar, the superb monument (1512 to 1518) to Henry VII and his wife Elizabeth of York, designed by Pietro Torrigiani.
