King's Lynn : The Michelin guide review

King's Lynn stands at the mouth of the Wash on the River Ouse, and was founded after the Norman Conquest (1066). Its two main squares, Saturday Market and Tuesday Market, were laid out in the Norman period. In the Middle Ages, the town was a bustling port and member of the Hanseatic League, exporting cloth and wool. In the 13C, King's Lynn was protected by ramparts, vestiges of which can be seen in Wyatt Street.
