There are just two Roman Churches in Dover. St-Mary's Church remains in tact but St Jame's Church is in ruins. The Hall of Maison Dieu (14C.) and Maison Dieu House (17C. have also survived, both in Biggin Street and Waterloo Crescent by Phillip Hardwick, and both of fine Regency style giving Dover a touch of elegance that is most rare for an active port-town. Events in the history of Dover are related in the sound and light festival titled White Cliffs Experience.
