Travel guide Clifton
Clifton
: The Michelin guide review
The elegant Bristol suburb of Clifton was developed on the heights overlooking the Avon Gorge in the early 1790s, though the rush of building was halted by a wave of bankruptcies. Building picked up again around 1810 and a more assured Grecian style was adopted, resulting in its delightful crescents, small squares and terraces, generously interspersed with greenery.
