Chester star star : The Michelin guide review

Chester stands near the Welsh border and is one of the most picturesque towns in England. It was occupied by the Romans, Vikings and Normans and was once a regional capital. The Rows, its medieval multi-storey shopping arcades, the preserved ramparts and cathedral provide the city with undeniable charm. Chester’s port reached its peak in the late 16C. Today, the Roodee racecourse occupies the site of former Roman galley moorings.
