Canterbury star star star : The Michelin guide review

Dominated by its famous cathedral, the ecclesiastical capital of England is still redolent of the Middle Ages. Long open to influences from the Continent, the city grew up along Watling Street, the great Roman thoroughfare linking London with the port of Dover. It is also the terminus of the Pilgrims' Way, a pathway of prehistoric origin used by pilgrims to reach St Thomas Becket's shrine. Today, Canterbury is also the seat of a university.
