An original Victorian arched aquarium, the world's largest when it was inaugurated in 1872, the centre offers a variety of ways to observe marine life at close quarters: tropical and freshwater fish, rays that will feed from your hand and the "Kingdom of the Seahorse". There is also an impressive transparent underground tunnel with sharks, stingrays and conger eels swimming overhead.
