In addition to its local history collection, the museum has Dutch and English paintings, china, pottery and a gallery devoted to ethnography and fashion. Once the Royal Pavilion stables, the building also has a well-presented display of 20C decorative arts, ranging from Art Nouveau to post-war Scandinavian design.
