Museum of Heavy Industry : The Michelin guide review

The Altenberg zinc works closed its doors in 1981, after 130 years of operation. The Museum of Heavy Industry, now housed in the former rolling mill, is devoted not only to the history of technological progress since the mid-19C, but also shows the determining role played by the metals industry in the history of the Rhine-Ruhr region. Original equipment from the former plant has been used in the exhibition.
