Ideal for family vacations, this beach resort has a fine fishing and pleasure-boating port as well as the Laboe Navy Memorial, marked by an 85-m tower in the shape of a keel. The history of the German navy is told here. Be sure to visit the U 995 submarine, which was launched in Hamburg in 1943 and operated in the Sea of Norway. From the top of the tower there is a superb view of the harbour; in good weather the Danish archipelago can be seen.
