Blade Museum : The Michelin guide review

Known the world over for its knives and scissors, Solingen is the centre of fine metalwork in Germany. The blade museum retraces the history of side arms, surgical instruments and scissors. Another highlight of the visit is the cutlery and dining traditions since the 18C.
From the monastery gardens, take the steps leading down to the Marktplatz. The houses around the square have been restored in the traditional half-timbered style of the Berg Land.
