St Michael's Church : The Michelin guide review

This Baroque church dates back to 1762 and is surprising for its size and the amount of light in it. It was built by the architect Sonnin, one of the best representatives of the Baroque tradition in Northern Germany. Its famous tower (Turm der Michel) is the popular symbol of Hamburg. From the platform, the panorama reaches across the centre of town and over the Elba and the port.
