Nothing remains of the palace inhabited by Princess Sophia-Dorothea, wife of the “Sergeant-King”. In its place a delightful park runs down to the Spree river. In summer, the open-air swimming pool here is busy with children from the surrounding district. A sandy beach facing the Museum Island offers sun-loungers and a small snack bar, with a view of the passing boats.
