This ethnological museum is one of the largest in the world with nearly 400,000 exhibits. Pre-Columbian America is represented by stone steles from Cozumalhuapa, Mayan objects, and Aztec statues; the golden chamber with its magnificent jewels and carved objects of worship is also worthy of note. Admire the sculpted wood and painted masks from New Guinea in the Oceania section; masks and puppets from Southern Asia; and Berber jewels, terracotta busts from Nigeria and bronzes from Benin in the Africa section.
