Egyptian Museum star : The Michelin guide review

The superb collections of the Agyptisches Museum can now be seen in the renovated Neues Museum. The highlights include exhibits discovered at Tell-el-Amarna which date from the reign of Pharaoh Akhenaten: two reliefs of Amenhotep III, Akhenaten’s father, wearing a diadem and a crown; a bust of Queen Tiy (c 1355 BC) carved in yew wood; portraits and reliefs of the royal family of Akhenaten (Akhenaten, Nefertiti, Tutankhamun etc); and the famous bust of Queen Nefertiti, Akhenaten’s wife, which was discovered in 1912.
