This museum designed by Friedrich August Stüler exhibits 19C art. The visit starts on the upper floor, with a display of works by Goethe’s contemporaries, such as Caspar David Friedrich, Blechen and Schinkel. The middle floor is dedicated to the French Impressionists (Manet, Monet, Renoir etc), while the ground floor exhibits Realist works, with a particular focus on painters and sculptors from Berlin (Adolph Menzel, Krüger, Schadow), and landscape artists such as Constable and Courbet.
