TOURISM
The town hall, overlooking the market square, was built by Weimar architect Nikolaus Grohmann between 1562 and 1564, and is one of Germany's most remarkable Renaissance-style buildings. Its oriel windows and doorways are richly decorated, notably with “gaping heads” which are thought to be representations of aldermen of the day. The Art Nouveau mosaic work covering the Brüderkirch church façade in the market square is also worthy of note.
