This rich treasury is home to a unique collection of precious objects linked to the history of the cathedral, with over a hundred outstanding works of art. These include the gold and silver Bust Reliquary of Charlemagne (after 1349), a gift of Charles IV; the Cross of Lothair adorned with precious stones (c 1100); Aachen altar (c 1520) and a unique ivory situla (c 1000). Also worthy of note are the many precious fabrics displayed around the Cappa Leonis (14C), once used as a coronation robe.
