Col de l’Asclier : The Michelin guide review

From St-Jean-du-Gard, the Col de l’Asclier road heads through the Gardon and Hérault valleys, to the foot of the Aigoual. Beyond Milliérines the landscape becomes wild; the road overlooks the little tributary valleys of the Gardon de St Jean before skirting round the Hierle ravine. From the hill there is a magnificent view: in the foreground, N.D. de la Rouvière ravine; beyond to the left is the pic d’Anjeau and La Tude with La Séranne on the horizon; further to the right is the Blandas plateau.
