Le Grau-du-Roi : The Michelin guide review
Constructed on either side of a channel between the mouths of the River Vidourle and the River Rhône,this resort has 18km of fine sandy beaches, perfect for those in quest of sea, sun and sand. Until the mid-19C, this was a humble fishing community of largely Italian origin who lived in modest shacks. The arrival of the railway saw the opening of the beach at Nîmois. Marinas here and at Port-Camargue are popular with boating types. Don’t miss the Seaquarium for an insight into life below the waves.
