Square René-Viviani : The Michelin guide review

Since 1928, this square has occupied the small area around the church of Saint-Julien-le-Pauvre. The superb view from here takes in the church, hidden behind a curtain of trees, the street, with its roofs bunched together in disorderly fashion, and one of the best perspectives of Notre-Dame. The square has preserved a false acacia tree (1680), the oldest tree in Paris, along with its “brother” at the Jardin des Plantes.
