Soak up French culture and history with a guided tour of the 17th-century Palace of Versailles, a World Heritage Site. Don't miss the exquisite manicured gardens, considered as works of art themselves.

Louis XIV, known as the Sun King, officially settled his government in here in 1682. Venture inside the palace and discover a fantasy of gold, mirrors, and marble. Your guide conjures up life in the palace; relating its history and inhabitants. Visit the Grand Royal Apartment, the Hall of Mirrors, and the Queen's private apartments. Then stroll among the gardens' sculptures, statues, busts, and marble vases–all made from 1661 onwards by teams of sculptors led by the king's favourite painter, Charles Le Brun.

Note:
Tours are available in English and Spanish on all tour operating days and departure times. Tours are available daily in Japanese at 8:45 AM. Tours are available in German at 8:45 AM every Tuesday and Friday.

The Fountains Show special program runs Saturdays and Sundays from April 1-October 26, May 8, July 14, and August 15, 2009. Entrance tickets to the gardens (€8) must be paid on the day of your tour during this time.

This tour does not operate on the first Sunday of every month in winter. This tour is not recommended for small children.
