Travel guide Saint-Denis
Saint-Denis
: The Michelin guide review
Famous throughout the world for its stadium, the town also owes its renown to the basilica where several kings of France are buried. The present monument was built by Abbot Suger in the 12C and by Pierre de Montreuil in the 13C. The town's trading activity expanded in the 12C which, by the 19C, had been replaced by heavy industry. Affected by the economic crisis thirty years ago, the town has now recovered and is beginning to prosper.
