Travel guide Amiens
Amiens
: The Michelin guide review
Amiens, the capital of Picardy, is home to the largest Gothic cathedral in France, which is twice the size of Notre Dame cathedral in Paris. The city is also famous for its charming marsh gardens (hortillonages) criss-crossed by a network of canals, its beautiful old houses and its gastronomic specialities. Recent renovation work in the city centre has much improved the characterless post-war buildings, of which the striking Tour Perret remains the symbol.
