St Raymond Museum : The Michelin guide review

Romanesque sculpture is outstandingly represented in this museum housed in the former Saint-Raymond school. Built in 1523 and later reconstructed by Viollet-le-Duc, it has been superbly restored. The museum contains numerous objets from ancient Tolosa and statuary from Chiragan de Martres-Tolosane Villa. The basement highlights the discoveries made during the building’s restoration (a lime kiln) and boasts a fine collection of Early Christian sarcophagi from Saint-Sernin.
